Laser Fence Trick
Being attacked by a Mammoth MK-II? This is a cheap way to destroy
it in one hit!!!!! To start off...you have to build quickly.
Place a laser fence post down and take it offline. Next place
another one down so that the wall is stretched across a vast
area. (If the posts are stealthed..this will work better) When
the Mammoth MK-II crosses the fence posts...turn the offline post
online and the BOOM!! Your problem is solved! Laser fences used
this way can kill ANYTHING in one hit. EXTREMELY cheap on the
net.
Forget Lasers and Obelisks
Just forget these...lasers are too weak and not long ranged and
obelisks waste up too much power.
Instead of wasting time on this, just build about 30-35
artilleries and about 10-15 tick tanks. This proves to be more
beneficial than static defense. Besides...artilleries have more
range than the O.O.L. (Obelisk of Light) and doesn't get affected
by low power. Should anything get past the artilleries...your
tick tanks should be enough to finish the attack off.
Fake Base
Okay, this is SOO obvious, but there are allot of hardcores that
fall for this. First build a MCV, and build a Stealth Generator.
(Pavement can't be cloaked) Then deploy the MCV artillery range
away from your base. You will need to deploy 10-15 Artilleries
near your FAKE base, but as far away as possible. Build a Stealth
Generator near the MCV, and build enough Pavement so that it is
pretty noticeable. Sell the MCV since it isn't needed anymore.
Build about 10-15 SAM sites around the Stealth Generator. Your
enemies will think you're a basic newbie that doesn't know about
uncloakable-Pavement. If they attack by ground, the Artilleries
will screw 'em, and by air, the SAMs will make mincemeat of them.
And all through this, they are too focused on your FAKE base,
thus your REAL base is safe. The only problem is if they use
Missiles or Ion Cannons, but they'll probably miss your Stealth
Generator, PLUS they won't be hitting your REAL base. Hahahaha!
You should probably ask them "Who's the newbie now?
Boohahahahaha!"
Attack in Force!
I do not know why people just bother to actually think about
strategies to attack the enemy (build five of these, take them to
the enemy base with seven of them, guard them with three of that)
ATTACK IN FORCE ! ! ! ! ! get a "basic" base set up,
e.g. power, refinery, radar, and vehicle factory - don't bother
about stuff like the hand and temple of nod, the missile silo,
base automated defenses (obelisk, laser and sam) - and then
dispense artillery after artillery after artillery, until you
have about ten or twenty, and then put your feet up while they
decimate the enemy base.
Encircle the Enemy
Who said stuff strategy well u can by doin this,
Backs to the Wall
Build 3 refineries near a large source of Tiberium, and build
Tech Center, War Factory, Hand of Nod, and Advanced Power Plant.
Make sure you have your base far back from canyon openings. From
the openings, build laser fences that force the enemy to go to a
prepared kill zone near your base; preferably around a corner or
in stealth field so they will be surprised when 5 artillery
pieces, 4 obelisks, some lasers, and tick tanks start killing
him. The number of units mentioned here should be used for each
kill zone, I recommend doing one for each possible entrance to
your base. Be sure to build sam sites also and it would probably
be a good idea to build a second, conventional wall with
Obelisks, lasers, and gates. Some thing you could try is building
walls around your obelisks so that there are 5 layers of walls
surrounding it, 1 cell short of its maximum range, so it can kill
wolverines and other vehicles from a distance and not get
touched, especially as the Mammoth Mark II cannot destroy walls
and will be a sitting duck. It's kind of expensive, though.
This is especially good against AI or newbies as they wont
destroy your walls with rocket infantry.
Take out Ion Cannon
What I do when playing as NOD against the computer, GET A STEALTH
GENERATOR ASAP...GDI's main weapon is the ION Cannon, so what you
do is build the generator, and you're base is undetectable) get a
million (about 10) flame tanks and sub-terrainian-APC's to get
their upgrade center, and viola! you've got an open gate way,
your window is about 45 seconds.then about 3 min after the cannon
is fired, so get in, send forces and destroy their base before
the center is done
Get the Mammoth Mk II
(This will only work for Nod and if you are facing GDI)
Here's how to get a Mammoth MK 2 for yourself. First get the
mutant hijacker, and an EMP cannon that's fully charged. Then if
GDI attacks with a mammoth and other vehicles, EMP them, send in
the mutant hijacker, and QUICKLY take out the other vehicles that
were with the mammoth. Now just keep some guys around the MK2
till the EMP wears off and you're finished. The only thing that
could go wrong, is that they have infantry attacking as well. If
so, send in attack buggys or the Cyborg Commando :). Or if you
have firestorm, get a mobile EMP cannon, go to their base, EMP
it, get the mammoth and protect it. The problem with that is, you
have to protect the mammoth IN their base.
Cyborg Commando Infiltration
OK - When playing as nod don't you get annoyed when GDI or NOD
wall off there base?
Just send 5 engineers and have an Obelisk ready...and have a
Cyborg Commando on hold like 2 seconds before being built. Then
nick a Power Plant or Helipad that will not be walled off and
place the Obelisk, shoot over the wall at the MCV ..while that's
doing that build a barracks, make it primary, build the rest of
your Cyborg Commando and when it pops out attack the War
Factories, Refineries, etc..
Cyborg Slaughtering
Infantry Confusion
Big Attack!
Long Range Attack
Set up groups of 5-7 artillery, 1-2 repair vehicles, sensor
array, and rocketeers in craters or on ridges near your base or
opponent's to cripple their attack force or defense.
Destroy MM2 in one Shot
If you take a GDI Mammoth MK2 onto a sheet of ice and it gets
shot while on the Ice by ANY unit it WILL fall down and die along
with all other units on that same sheet of ice. This can be a
disadvantage if you're GDI but it could be a NOD advantage.
Expensive Obelisk Defense
Cyborg Commando Attack
Bus Transports
You can use a Mutant Hi Jacker to take a civilian bus (only the
bus will work for this) and put as many people as you please
inside the bus!! (Daniel: it's actually a maximum of 20 infantry,
still useful though as enemy won't know what's hit 'em. Try
putting in a Cyborg Commando, some Rocket infantry and Cyborgs.
Should be fun!)
Unlimited Banshee Range
This bug allows you to fire with the Banshees to everywhere on
the map without a limited range.
You have to select a target, and when the banshees start to fire
on it, change the target to another place, and the bullets will
change route to the new target. Useful with 5 or more banshees
Stealth Generator + Pavement = Visible!
If you are playing against a human opponent, they will be able to
see any pavement you place, whether it is cloaked or not. In this
way, they can see your base even when it is cloaked. So don't
place pavement if you have a stealth generator. Computer
opponents don't notice this though.
Capture Con Yard
Build a subterranean APC and place some engineers in it. Then
direct it towards the enemy's construction yard, unload, and
capture it.
Now you can sell it, move it away, or build some lasers around it
(if you want to do this, have the laser/obelisk ready to place
before the capture.
Or you can immediately build a Hand of Nod to start capturing the
rest of the base with engineers.
Counter tactics:
Build pavement around your Con Yard and keep it heavily guarded
against this common tactic.
Have some engineers on standby to recapture enemy buildings
Build a spare construction yard or MCV with the War Factory
Use Mobile Sensor Arrays for an early warning
Defensive Circle
As soon as you can, start building artillery, tick tanks and
rocket infantry.
Obelisks and Laser turrets are really too expensive and drain too
much power, and walls are pretty useless, so here is an
alternative defense:
Make a circle of alternating artillery and tick tanks deployed
around your base, with rocket infantry just behind and maybe a
few laser turrets thrown in for good measure. This defense will
be very hard to get through as a lot of enemy units will be
destroyed before they get anywhere near your base.
Construction Yard Bombing
Fire a Multi-Missile at the enemy Construction Yard. This should
nearly destroy it. Use several Banshees to finish it off. Try and
get the War Factory too, as this will leave the enemy helpless,
unless he has an MCV.
Additional: Take a multi-missile and launch it at the very
right corner of the construction yard. The first explosion will
damage it and the fragment bombs will be able to hit it and
finish it off. If it doesn't, use Banshees as suggested above.
Counter-tactic: Build SAM Sites, and keep a spare CY or
MCV somewhere safe.
Bumpy Entry
Force fire artillery as far as you can in front of your base.
This will deform the terrain, making it hilly and bumpy, and full
of craters, slowing down any enemy attacks. Especially from
vehicles. Try to do this where there is a bottleneck or narrow
valley, as this will cause the enemy to get stuck!
Counter tactic: Go round another way, or send a
two-pronged attack. Failing that, have some air units, infantry,
etc. at the front to quickly get through to the enemy's base
while your tanks struggle on the slopes. By the time they get
there, you should have done some damage.
Recon Bike Hit 'n' Runs
To take advantage of their speed and maneuverability, use Recon
bikes for defense against slow, heavy mechs and such like. Fire
once, then scatter (X), then repeat until the offending unit is
destroyed. Five bikes should be enough to take out any GDI Mech.
They are Listening...
Before launching an attack using subterranean or cloaked units,
make sure to destroy Listeners first, preferably using Banshees,
or maybe even fast Recon Bikes. Don't let the enemy detect your
sneaky operations and surprise attacks though!
Counter tactics: Keep your Mobile Sensor Array in the
center of your base, or well guarded, or even surround it with
walls. You will be vulnerable to surprise attacks without it
Behind the Lines
Keep artillery units at the back of your attack force and use
these to take out as much of the enemy defense, or power plants,
as you can before they can respond. Then you can move in to
finish them off.
Suicide Harvester/Flame Tank
Send a Blue-Tiberium filled harvester, or Subterranean Flame Tank
as close as you can to a group of enemy units, or an enemy
structure, to watch it explode in a huge ball of flames,
destroying everything around it.
Underground Assault
Nod Missile Attack
To cripple a base when you are the nod, use missiles. first,
build a silo and continuously build multi missiles. Then, start
another base next to a red Tiberium field, and hide it with as
stealth generator so they don't hit you with an ion cannon. With
about 4 weed eaters, you get 2 chemical missiles for every one
multi missile. use every other chemical missile to take out a
small building or a cluster of units, and use a multi missile and
a chemical missile right after one another to take out their
construction yard and war factory. If they don't work, use a
fleet of banshees to finish the job. If you lose a few of them it
is ok... you can recover and they cant.
Nod Base Defense
To defend a NOD base, use stealth generators. they are expensive,
but well worth it. Uses laser fences and gates around the
perimeter and SAMs and lasers every few spaces. A couple of
artillery behind the fences will kill any approaching infantry.
Take out Units & Defenses First
Helpless Foes
Wave of Offence
Defence Strategy
When you build your base put 3 or 4 artillery units near the
entrances and put them on guard mode. This will kill most enemies
before they get to near to your base.

More Tips for Sub APC Attacks
As NOD you have a very large weakness in vehicles. The best
tactics are stealth(not the tank). You build a subterranean APC
put a cyborg commando, and 4 engineers. I think its best to send
2-4 Devils Tongues as escorts though. The Devil Tongues can
simply cover your engineers and commando while they capture and
you sell everything. If you don't like selling other side
buildings because it gives your side advantage then pre-build a
obelisk of light and make sure you have the power for it. You
capture then place the obelisk next to an enemy building this is
a win-win scenario. If the captured buildings are weakened sell.
Its quick cash.
Counter: Walls or pavement in your base I recommend both.
Sub APC, Engineers + Stealth Generator
A really good way to take out somebody base is to build a sub APC
and about five sub flame tanks. Fill the apc with engineers and
build a stealth generator. Use the flame tanks to distract his
units to another part of his base while you bring in your apc.
After taking over one of his buildings slap down the stealth
generator. Now he doesn't know what hit him. You can sit back and
just toy with him or build a barracks and take over the rest of
his stuff with more engineers.
